Congratulations to Dr. Jenkins who was asked to be a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Founded in 1946 it is the oldest medical specialty society in the United States devoted entirely to continuing medical education related to hand surgery. The mission of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand is to advance the science and practice of hand surgery through education, research, and outreach with an emphasis on continuing education to enhance the care of hand and upper extremity disorders. They rely on grants, donations and pledges to fund research for developments in new treatment algorithms, surgical techniques and devices, and new information in the field of hand and upper extremity surgery. Dr. Casey Jenkins is one of less than 60 active ASSH members in the state of North Carolina.
