Dr. Harris Receives WakeMed's 2013 Dascomb Award

WakeMed Health & Hospitals recently honored Dr. Tim Harris with the prestigious Harry E. Doscomb, MD, Award. WakeMed's highest teaching honor, the Dascomb Award is presented annually to a physician who demonstrates excellence in teaching and patient care. Dr. Harris was recognized as a leader in orthopaedics as a clinician, an educator and an administrator. Dr. Harris was nominated by his peers and selected by the Dasomb Award committee, which includes doctors from WakeMed Faculty Physicians and community physicians. Recipients must have three or more years of clinical experience and exhibit leadership in establishing, maintaining and supporting clinical teaching programs at WakeMed. Dr. Harris has served in several leadership roles at WakeMed, including formerly as medical director of Wake Orthopaedics and the chair of the department of orthopaedic surgery. Among his colleagues, Dr. Harris is known for setting high standards, both for himself and for the residents he works with. Congratulations Dr. Harris! We are so proud of you and your accomplishments.
