Join Us for WakeMed's Baseline Concussion Testing
At WakeMed, we believe that concussion is a treatable injury. The WakeMed Concussion Program is designed to:
- Evaluate, manage and treat concussions in young athletes from start to finish.
- Educate athletes, parents, coaches and trainers about recognizing concussion symptoms and managing concussion at home.
Children recover more slowly from concussions than adults, which makes comprehensive management and assessment so important. The WakeMed Concussion Program is committed to comprehensive care of the whole individual. We continue to work with young athletes until they make a full recovery and can safely return to school and sports.
Baseline concussion testing will be done at WakeMed North Hospital in their computer lab. Each session will last 45 minutes. Athletes are asked to arrive 10 minutes early for their session.
